Category Specialist, Chemicals and Catalysts – Global Procurement
You will support end-to-end category management within Chemicals and Catalysts. In this role you will work closely with Neste colleagues such as Category Leads, Legal Counsel, and Operations representatives globally. You will collaborate on strategic sourcing initiatives, drive supplier performance, and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our Chemicals and Catalysts procurement processes.
Responsibilities
- Market analysis: analyze chemicals and catalysts markets relevant to our core spend categories.
- Supplier analysis: evaluate specific companies within these markets, conducting tailored analyses to understand sourcing alternatives, supplier profiles, cost structures, and offerings.
- Spend analytics: perform historical and predictive spend analysis to identify savings opportunities and develop improvement strategies.
- Contract and pricing management: maintain up-to-date category contracts and pricing; develop automation where possible; manage smaller purchase requisition to purchase order processes.
- Supplier relationship management support: provide data on supplier supply, quality, and cost performance; ensure supply continuity with appropriate quality and pricing; manage supplier claims.
- Strategic sourcing participation: engage with category leads in strategic sourcing initiatives, savings projects, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management, and related reporting.
- Stakeholder and supplier engagement: build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders jointly with category leads, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Analytical & financial capabilities: strong analytical skills and solid understanding of basic financial analysis.
- Educational background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
- Relevant work experience: proven experience in roles related to material procurement; working knowledge of chemicals an added advantage.
- Language proficiency: fluency in English and preferably the local language of the hiring Sijainti.
- AI tools: experience using and adapting AI.
- SAP working knowledge.
