Senior Employment Counsel

Do you want to help shape the future of work? We are looking for an experienced Senior Employment Counsel to strengthen our HR organization across Suomi, Puola, and the Baltic countries.

In this role, you will serve as the employment law and labour relations expert for Suomi. In Puola and the Baltic countries, you will work with external employment law specialists to support your assignments and initiatives.

Responsibilities

As Senior Employment Counsel, your responsibilities in Suomi will include:

  • Act as a trusted advisor on employment law and labour relations matters to business leaders, HR, and managers.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with employee representatives, fostering effective dialogue and collaboration.
  • Lead cooperation negotiations and other workforce-related transformation initiatives, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and successful implementation of organizational changes.
  • Provide expert legal advice and practical guidance on complex employment law and labour relations issues.
  • Drive the continuous development of HR policies, processes, and practices, ensuring alignment with legislation, collective agreements, and business objectives.
  • Monitor developments in employment legislation and labour market practices, and proactively assess related risks, opportunities, and business impacts.
  • Advising and supporting the business and HR on employment-related matters connected to mergers and acquisitions, integrations, outsourcing arrangements, and other strategic business initiatives.

In Puola and the Baltic countries, your responsibilities will include:

  • Support local business leaders and HR teams in the most complex employment law matters through external employment law specialists.
Qualifications
  • Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Strong expertise in employment law and labour relations, with several years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience applying cooperation legislation and working closely with employee representatives and labour unions.
  • Solid understanding of collective agreements, including experience in their interpretation and application.
  • Experience with employment and labour law matters related to corporate transactions, business transfers, and outsourcing arrangements is an advantage.
  • Ability to combine legal expertise with a practical, business-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in Finnish and English.
