We're hiring a Data Alchemist. This is not a traditional data analyst or ETL role. We're building a horizontal data orchestration platform for highly regulated enterprises — the layer that sits across systems like ServiceNow, Workday, SAP, and Oracle and turns messy, non-standard data into something AI can actually trust. The clients you will work with are all blue-chip Fortune 500 brands. This role exists because dashboards and reports don't solve the hard problems. Foundations do. We are looking for someone who enjoys digging into unfamiliar datasets, questioning assumptions, and understanding the underlying business logic behind the data—even when it's messy, inconsistent, or poorly documented. Titles, degrees, and years of experience matter far less than curiosity, judgment, and the willingness to learn new domains from scratch. About Alekstra Alekstra is a horizontal data orchestration platform that spans the enterprise application layer—including ServiceNow, Workday, SAP, and Oracle—and proprietary data sources. We unify orchestration, governance, lineage, semantics, and compliance in a single data layer, because enterprises cannot deploy AI or automation at scale until their data is trusted, understood, controlled, and standardized. We work with highly regulated organizations where correctness, traceability, and trust are not optional. The role We are looking for a Data Alchemist — someone who genuinely enjoys understanding data in all its messy, inconsistent, real-world forms, and shaping how it becomes reliable, governed, and usable across complex enterprise environments. You will operate like a co-founder of an internal venture. Your work will influence how Alekstra's horizontal platform interacts with enterprise workflows, vertical-specific logic, and AI systems. You will help decide not just how data is processed, but what it should mean and how it can be trusted. We value curiosity and judgment far more than credentials. What you'll work on You will sit at the intersection of enterprise applications, proprietary systems, and AI-ready data foundations. Platform and horizontal work Designing and evolving data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration flows across enterprise systems like ServiceNow, Workday, SAP, and our client's vendors like Apple, Microsoft, and Verizon. Exploring non-standard, imperfect enterprise data to uncover structure, semantics, and edge cases Defining data quality, lineage, and compliance patterns that scale across customers and industries Working closely with platform engineers to turn data insight into durable orchestration and governance capabilities Ensuring data outputs are trustworthy foundations for LLM training, retrieval, and inference Vertical &wWorkflows Understanding how data moves through real enterprise workflows used daily by employees Translating business rules, contracts, and operational logic into structured, computable data representations Abstracting vertical-specific complexity into reusable platform patterns rather than one-off solutions Supporting customer onboarding by shaping how their data maps into Alekstra's unified data layer This role rewards people who are comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy figuring things out from Ensimmäinen principles. Helpful skills (not requirements) You may work with: SQL, Python, or similar tools for data exploration and transformation ETL / ELT tools (e.g., Pentaho or equivalents) APIs, file-based ingestion, and databases Concepts around governance, lineage, and compliance AI / LLM data preparation workflows How you think matters more than what you've used before.
