Our client is a rapidly growing international digital infrastructure developer and operator delivering large-scale, mission‑critical data centre projects across global markets. Backed by significant investment and focused on supporting the growth of cloud computing, AI, and hyperscale infrastructure, the organisation is expanding its presence across the Nordics and wider EMEA region.

With a strong pipeline of major developments, they are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a flagship hyperscale data centre project in Suomi.

The Role

The Project Director will take full ownership of the successful delivery of a large‑scale data centre project from construction through commissioning and handover. Acting as the senior site‑based representative, the successful candidate will oversee all project functions including programme, commercial performance, stakeholder management, safety, quality, and contractor coordination.

This is a critical leadership role requiring extensive experience delivering complex mission‑critical or large‑scale infrastructure projects in fast‑paced environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of a hyperscale data centre project in Suomi
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams across construction, engineering, commissioning, commercial, and project controls
  • Drive programme performance to ensure key milestones and client objectives are achieved
  • Oversee main contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and vendor relationships
  • Ensure the highest standards of health & safety, quality assurance, and compliance across the project lifecycle
  • Monitor project budgets, risk, reporting, and change management processes
  • Coordinate with internal leadership teams and external stakeholders including clients, authorities, utilities, and delivery partners
  • Support procurement, contract administration, and commercial strategy activities
  • Lead project governance, reporting, and executive‑level communication
  • Ensure successful commissioning, testing, and operational readiness of the facility
Requirements
  • Proven experience delivering large‑scale data centre, mission‑critical, or major infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in construction and project delivery leadership roles
  • Experience managing complex CSA and MEP packages within high‑value projects
  • Demonstrable success leading multidisciplinary project teams and external contractors
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract management capability
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with commissioning and handover processes within mission‑critical environments
  • Ability to operate in fast‑paced, high‑growth project environments
Preferred Experience
  • Previous hyperscale data centre project experience (Essential)
  • Experience working within the Nordics or European construction markets
  • Knowledge of Tier III / Tier IV environments and mission‑critical standards
  • Background working for developers, main contractors, or data centre operators
  • Degree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline
