Role SummaryCBRE is seeking a dynamic and experienced advisor to lead its ESG & Sustainability Solutions practice in Finland.This role at Associate Director / Director level focuses on driving ESG strategy, innovation, and execution across client portfolios in Finland. As part of CBRE’s global ESG network, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary team, advise top-tier clients, and integrate ESG across the real estate lifecycle to enhance asset value and resilience.You’ll work within a regional matrix organization, collaborating across borders and service lines to deliver measurable sustainability outcomes. The role combines strategic advisory with commercial impact - building internal capabilities, selling advisory projects, and contributing to one of CBRE’s key focus areas. Success requires an outgoing personality and strong commercial skills to turn sustainability goals into actionable results.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership: You will define and lead the ESG & Sustainability strategy for CBRE’s Finnish advisory business, aligned with global and EMEA-level sustainability objectives. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders on ESG risks, opportunities, and compliance as well as represent CBRE in industry bodies, regulatory consultations, and sustainability forums.
Client Advisory & Delivery: You will lead and oversee delivery of ESG advisory services including:
- Net-zero carbon strategies and implementation
- Climate risk and resilience assessments (e.g. TCFD-aligned)
- ESG due diligence for acquisitions, developments, and disposals
- EU Taxonomy, SFDR, and CSRD alignment and reporting
- ESG strategy integration into asset and portfolio management
- Circular economy and biodiversity strategies
You will develop bespoke ESG roadmaps for clients across sectors (real estate investors, developers, occupiers, public sector), as well as ensure high-quality,>
- Minimum 6–8 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, or environmental consulting, ideally within real estate, infrastructure, or investment.
- Proven leadership experience in managing teams and delivering complex advisory projects.
- Strong understanding of EU ESG regulations and frameworks including EU Taxonomy, SFDR, CSRD, TCFD & GHG Protocol and Scope 1–3 emissions accounting
- Experience in ESG integration across real estate lifecycle: acquisition, development, operation, and disposal.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including C-level advisory.
Technical Skills & Tools- Proficiency in ESG data platforms and tools (e.g. Measurabl, Deepki, GRESB Portal, CRREM, OneClick LCA).
- Experience with carbon accounting, lifecycle analysis (LCA), and embodied carbon assessments.
- Familiarity with building performance modeling and energy simulation tools.
- Understanding of climate scenario analysis and physical/transition risk modeling.
- Knowledge of sustainable materials, circular economy principles, and biodiversity metrics.
Preferred Qualifications- Academic background in environmental science, engineering, architecture, urban planning, economics, or sustainability.
- Professional certifications (e.g. LEED AP, BREEAM Assessor, WELL AP).
- Experience in ESG strategy for listed companies or institutional investors.
- Fluency in Finnish and English; Swedish is a big plus.
