At ALTEN Suomi, we are looking for aSCADA / HMI / Communication System Engineer

This role involves working on demanding and technically interesting projects related to power systems and industrial automation, contributing to the design, implementation, and development of advanced SCADA and HMI solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Designing SCADA system architectures and HMI solutions for real‑time monitoring and control
  • Defining and implementing communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850)
  • Leading system integration, commissioning and testing activities
  • Reviewing technical designs, specifications and project deliverables
  • Troubleshooting issues and improving system performance, reliability and security
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Experience in system design within energy, industrial or utility projects
  • Familiarity with SCADA and HMI platforms such asAveva Plant SCADA, Zenon, Eaton SMP or similar
  • Experience with network traffic analysis and debugging tools (e.g. Wireshark)
  • Familiar with testing and simulation tools (e.g. IEDScout, TMW Test Harness)
  • Experience in electrical design of substation secondary systemsis an advantage
  • Knowledge of electro‑technical standards is considered a benefit
  • Fluent written and spoken English; other languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel when required
