We are now looking for a Senior Manager, Global Accounting and Reporting Compliance to join our Finance and Control team. This permanent Tehtävä is located in Tampere, Suomi.
What you will do
- Ensure high-quality, compliant, and efficient IFRS and statutory financial reporting across UPM businesses and functions, driving consistency in application and interpretation.
- Provide subject matter expertise with a hands-on approach to accounting and assurance teams on complex accounting treatments considering IFRS, local GAAP and management reporting requirements.
- Work with stakeholders on IFRS and local GAAP topics and provide guidance to ensure appropriate and consistent accounting outcomes.
- Lead and coordinate collaboration with global stakeholders, including local finance teams and external service providers, to drive alignment and ensure efficient execution of reporting processes.
- Provide leadership in overseeing and continuously improving reporting and compliance processes, identifying opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and control.
- Contribute to the resolution of complex accounting issues and participate in key judgments impacting financial statements.
- Share expertise and actively coach colleagues across the organization, strengthening accounting competencies and promoting best practices.
Who you are
You are a self-directed and experienced finance professional with a strong sense of ownership and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. You are comfortable operating at the intersection of Finance, Tax, and Business, applying your expertise to complex topics and ensuring high standards of accuracy, quality, and compliance across processes. You take initiative, influence stakeholders, and drive topics forward in a global environment.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS
- Solid understanding of income tax accounting with the ability to apply it in practice
- Strong expertise in statutory financial reporting processes in general, and Finnish statutory accounting principles (FAS)
- Proven ability to navigate complexity, take ownership, and drive topics forward independently
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to summarize the essential and collaborate effectively in a global organization
- Demonstrated ability to lead through expertise, guiding and supporting others
- Experience in coordinating across multiple stakeholders and driving alignment in complex environments
- Experience in similar roles in private sector and/or in auditing is considered an asset
- Proficiency in working with data and systems; experience with ERP environments (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel skills are expected, while other tools (e.g., OneStream) are considered an asset
- Relevant academic degree in finance with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience
- Fluency in English and Finnish

Additional information: This Tehtävä offers a hybrid working model, combining remote work with regular on-site collaboration. The Tehtävä reports to the Director, Global Accounting and Reporting Services.
