About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Superintendent to join our Global Field Services team. Depending on experience and qualifications, the Tehtävä may also be offered at the level of Service Engineer, Senior Service Engineer, or Superintendent. The role is permanent with a preferred Sijainti of Vaasa, Suomi, but Turku and Helsinki may also be considered for the right candidate.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Superintendent in Global Field Services, you will perform and lead commissioning, overhauls, troubleshooting, on‑site repairs, audits, measurement, analysis, and upgrades on marine and land‑based installations with Wärtsilä engines and equipment. You will work internationally, traveling approximately 150 days per year, while also having the option to work remotely part of the time in line with our hybrid model.

Responsibilities

• Pre‑commissioning and commissioning of Wärtsilä equipment with the latest automation and electrical technologies for marine installations.
• Troubleshooting failures, adjusting, and attending (sea) trial runs of installations as per instructions and performance requirements.
• Performing installation audits at various land and sea‑based installations.
• Preparing service reports and travel expenses on time in accordance with Wärtsilä quality expectations.
• Participating in and contributing to the improvement of new products during warranty activities.
• Conforming to and abiding by Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines, regulations, site procedures, and policies.
• Actively promoting Wärtsilä products and services.
• Ensuring customer satisfaction through performance and positive interactions with customers.
• Continuously expanding knowledge of the UNIC system, which will be the main focus of the role.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Automation Engineering or relevant work experience to compensate for lack of formal education.
• Experience working in automation‑focused field service roles.
• Proven leadership qualities and decision‑making skills.
• Strong practical problem‑solving skills and a solution‑oriented mindset, with resourcefulness to adapt when faced with a challenge.
• Passion for learning and professional growth, and a desire to keep up with the latest innovations.
• Safety‑Ensimmäinen mindset.
• Proficient English and Finnish language skills, both written and spoken.
• Highly effective technical communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Flexibility to travel globally for approximately 150 days per year.
• Drive to provide customers with the best possible service experience.
• Ability to hold a passport and obtain required visas and travel permits for global travel within required business timelines.

Advantage
