We are growing fast across Europe, with more than 1.5 GW of BESS capacity under contract, 30+ grid‑scale assets under full end‑to‑end service, and over 500 MW of operational BESS capacity. As our business scales, we are looking for a detail‑oriented and proactive Accountant to strengthen our finance operations and help build reliable, scalable financial processes.

As an Senior Accountant at Capalo AI, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, smooth month‑end processes, and strong day‑to‑day finance operations. You will work closely with internal teams across the Yritys and support our growing international business with structured accounting, reporting, and compliance practices.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys precision, ownership, and continuous improvement and who wants to contribute to a fast‑growing Yritys operating at the intersection of energy, AI, and financial markets.

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities, including purchase invoices, sales invoices, payments, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with VAT, tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and other finance partners when needed.
• Help improve accounting processes, internal controls, and finance workflows as the Yritys scales.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting with accurate financial data.
• Ensure accounting practices comply with applicable regulations, Yritys policies, and audit requirements.
• Work closely with business teams to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and easy to understand.

We are looking for someone with strong accounting fundamentals, high attention to detail, and a hands‑on attitude.

You should have:

• Relevant education in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations, or a similar role.
• Good understanding of bookkeeping, reconciliations, month‑end closing, and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with Finnish accounting practices.
• Experience with accounting systems and strong Excel / Google Sheets skills.
• Understanding of VAT, tax, and statutory accounting requirements in Suomi and cross border.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial data.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize work in a fast‑moving environment.
• Good communication skills in English.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience in a startup, scale‑up, energy, trading or technology Yritys.
• Experience working in an international or multi‑entity environment.
• Familiarity with Finnish accounting practices
• Familiarity with other middle europan accounting practices.
• Experience with ERP or financial management systems such as Procountor, Brigth Analytics and Financekey.
• Interest in energy markets, renewable energy, or the energy transition.
